Dark-Throated Red Golden pheasant
At Game Fowls Ranch, our Dark-Throated Red Golden pheasant lines are strictly line-bred and maintained in clean, covered flight pens to preserve dense pigmentation, crisp throat contrast, and rich feathering. Unlike standard Red Goldens, Dark-Throated males exhibit deep black plumage across their throat and chin, dark chest feathering, and a rich, dark tail pattern, while females display darker, richer chestnut-brown barred plumage.
Every pheasant selected for dispatch undergoes rigorous health inspection and biosecurity protocols:
-
Selective Conformation: Chosen strictly for intense dark-throat pigment contrast, brilliant golden crest alignment, pristine tail feather condition, and erect posture.
-
Peak Health & Nutritional Conditioning: Maintained on high-protein gamebird breeder/maintainer feeds (18%–22% protein), fresh green forage, live mealworms, and mineral grit for optimal feather sheen and structural health.
-
Biosecurity & Parasite Control: Fully dewormed, inspected for clean nostrils, clear eyes, unblemished legs, and housed in clean, bio-secure aviaries prior to shipping.
-
Climate-Controlled Live Express Delivery: Shipped inside heavy-duty, state-approved live poultry/gamebird transit crates lined with absorbent bedding and moisture-providing fruits/hydration gels to guarantee a safe, low-stress journey.
